LANGUAGECERT INTERNATIONAL ESOL (IESOL)
LanguageCert International ESOL is a set of English Language qualifications mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), that have been designed and abide by the most rigorous quality and reliability standards. Learners choose the qualification level they feel ready to sit for and the certifications are awarded to them upon successfully passing the exams.
A set of internationally recognised, Ofqual regulated English language exams, mapped to the CEFR. These exams are intended for non-native English speakers worldwide who need to provide documented evidence of their English language level for study, employment or leisure purposes.
Two exams available at this level: Written (Listening, Reading, Writing) and Spoken (Speaking). Both exams can be taken together or independently.
LanguageCert International ESOL A1 Preliminary
Exams are delivered through Madagascar Professional Training Centre (MPTC).
- Written exam (1 hour 40 minutes): Paper-based or computer-based
- Spoken exam (6 minutes): Face-to-face
At A1 level, candidates can:
- use familiar everyday language and very basic expressions.
- interact in a basic manner.
LanguageCert International ESOL A2 Access
Exams are delivered through Madagascar Professional Training Centre (MPTC) or online.
- Written exam (1 hour 40 minutes): Paper-based/computer-based at approved Test Centres or Online with remote, live invigilation
- Spoken exam (9 minutes) : Face-to-face or Online with a live interlocutor
At A2 level, candidates can:
- use everyday language and expressions related to personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment etc.
LanguageCert International ESOL B1 Achiever
Exams are delivered through Madagascar Professional Training Centre (MPTC) or online.
- Written exam (2 hours 40 minutes): Paper-based/computer-based at approved Test Centres or Online with remote, live invigilation
- Spoken exam (12 minutes): Face-to-face or Online with a live interlocutor
At B1 level, candidates can:
- convey information, feelings and opinions on familiar topics (family, work, school, travel and leisure)
- engage in discussion to reach shared understanding
- produce simple, connected texts
- describe experiences, events, hopes and ambitions
- understand simple magazines/newspaper article
LanguageCert International ESOL B2 Communicator
Exams are delivered through Madagascar Professional Training Centre (MPTC) or online.
- Written exam (2 hours 40 minutes): Paper-based/computer-based at approved Test Centres or Online with remote, live invigilation
- Spoken exam (13 minutes): Face-to-face or Online with an interlocutor
At B2 level, candidates can:
- communicate in detail, travel, live and work independently in an English-speaking country
- spontaneously interact with a degree of fluency without much strain on either party
- follow the news, TV and radio channels
- write emails, texts, letters, reports and stories etc.
LanguageCert International ESOL C1 Expert
Exams are delivered through Madagascar Professional Training Centre (MPTC).or online.
- Written exam (3 hours 10 minutes): Paper-based/computer-based at approved Test Centres or Online with remote, live invigilation
- Spoken exam (15 minutes): Face-to-face or Online with a live interlocutor
At C1 level, candidates can:
- use language fluently and spontaneously
- engage in discussion clearly and effectively
- produce well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects
- understand long, demanding texts and recognise implicit meanings
- communicate in social, academic of professional environments in English speaking countries
Candidates at C1 level possess the language skills that most employers seek for high calibre English-equipped employees.
LanguageCert International ESOL C2 Mastery
Exams are delivered through Madagascar Professional Training Centre (MPTC).or online.
- Written exam (3 hours 10 minutes): Paper-based/computer-based at approved Test Centres or Online with remote, live invigilation
- Spoken exam (17 minutes): Face-to-face or Online with a live interlocutor
At C2 level, candidates can:
- communicate spontaneously, fluently and precisely in virtually any situation
- understand almost everything heard or read
- summarise and reconstruct arguments and accounts coherently
- differentiate finer shades of meaning in complex situations
Candidates at C2 level have mastered English to an exceptional level, possessing the language skills needed to work in a senior professional or study in high-level academic environments (e.g. Master’s or PhD).
